My journey

Are you in sleep deficit? Tired, and lacking the energy to get you through the day? Is your work-life balance tilted more towards work and less towards your family, friends, yourself? Have you been struggling to lose weight but find that diets don’t work, and carbs are what sustain you? Are you so time-poor that planning tomorrow’s lunch seems like a mountain too high to climb? Are you constantly busy but frustrated at not achieving the things you desire?

By the age of 61 after 40 years of teaching and heading departments in three countries and multiple schools, I was depleted, often spending over 10 hours a day at work, with very little time or reserves left for anything else in my life. I realised that the time had come to put away my whiteboard markers, pack up my books, and start the process of de-stressing.

For most of my adult life, I have been on a quest to solve my persistent gut and allergy issues that lead to pain and bloating, and lose the stubborn weight that made its appearance when I was in my late 30s and kept creeping back even though I ate good food and partook in moderate exercise. I had tried various diets, some of which I managed to sustain for a while, but ultimately, I went back to eating my favourite foods that were not always the best choices for me until I decided to adhere to the principles of functional health.

My first real breakthrough started early in 2019 when I committed to a twice daily meditation practice with the Ziva Meditation method. That planted the seed of manifesting my vision, even though I was not quite sure what it was at that stage. It was the catalyst to making the decision to leave teaching.

When I came across a webinar advertising health coaching, it resonated very strongly with my life-long passion for health and wellness. With great excitement and anticipation, I enrolled in Chris Kresser's ADAPT Health Coach Training Program.

Through the ADAPT health coach training program I have gained knowledge, tools and insights that I would love to share with people like you and help you to discover the power of the mind, develop a different attitude towards nutrition, liberate yourself from the concept of diets, and ignite joy in your life.
